What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leave of Absence Adminstrator position at Nova Biomedical Corporation?
Nova Biomedical is looking for a part-time, temporary Leave of Absence Administrator on-site in our Waltham, MA facility who would be responsible for high volume leaves of absence including, short and long-term disability, and workers compensation. This position would effectively coordinate all cases/claims to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act, OSHA and all related employment laws and may assist with special projects within benefits. Other responsibilities include:
- Serve as main point of contact for employee as it relates to leaves of absence, including short and long-term disability and workers compensation. Follow-up with employees while they are out on leave and communicate information as needed to supervisor/manager, and Human Resources.
- Maintains detailed knowledge of disability programs and leaves of absence and answers employee inquiries pertaining to programs, processes, procedures, and communications.
- Administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
- Ensures that the workers compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers compensation laws, working closely with Nova Biomedicals Environmental Health and Safety Specialists when injuries are reported.
- Stays up to date on current state and federal leave requirements and trends, and communicates and implements policy and process changes necessary to remain compliant.
- Track and report data on leaves of absences and workers compensation to look for trends and possible areas of improvement with leave programs.
- Serve as primary contact responding to written and verbal inquiries relating to leaves of absences and workers compensation and resolve issues as necessary.
- Coordinate and organize all leave information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
- Acts as main point of contact with third-party leave vendor and workers compensation provider.
- Receive and process employee benefits payments from employees on leave and/or tracks and arranges repayment plan upon employee return.
Experience:
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of two years of managing leave cases and workers compensation claims.
