Position Overview: Nova Farms is looking for a Paralegal to navigate and uphold state and federal regulations across our expanding footprint. You will work closely with our in-house compliance team and legal department, managing legal documentation, conducting detailed research, and assisting in the preparation and review of contracts, licenses, and regulatory filings. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a robust understanding of the cannabis industry's complex regulatory environment. Your contributions will ensure our continued adherence to legal standards and support our mission of setting the standard in the industry.
Responsibilities:
● Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
● Conduct legal research and analysis related to cannabis regulations across multiple states.
● Manage and maintain corporate records, licenses, and regulatory filings.
● Prepare and submit applications for state and local cannabis licenses.
● Support the legal team in litigation, compliance audits, and regulatory investigations.
● Coordinate with external legal counsel on various legal matters.
● Provide administrative support to the legal team, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing files.
● Assist with intellectual property matters, including trademark applications and maintenance.
● Monitor changes in cannabis laws and regulations and ensure compliance across all company operations.
● Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
● Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably with experience in the cannabis industry or in a heavily regulated environment.
● Strong knowledge of state and federal cannabis regulations.
● Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
● High level of organization and attention to detail.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
