What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at Novagard?
The Quality Technician I is the entry level classification for the Quality Department. They learn to perform the testing for one product line, assist with cleaning and maintaining the lab environment and begin to learn the requirements of the quality management system for organization-wide processes. This position works a 12-hour shift, from 7:00 pm - 7:00 am.
Essential Functions

- Ability to read and understand lab test methods and specifications
- Ability to conduct final testing on finished goods for Grease, Foam or RTV
- Ability to input test results into appropriate location for storage
- Knowledge of appropriate parameters for rejection and disposition of non-conforming material
- Complete inventory transactions, as needed
- Complete and file appropriate documentation
- Maintain sample retains according to procedures
- Work with minimum supervision
Competencies
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
- Must possess basic math, reading and writing skills
- Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and/or databases
Required Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is basic to the position while a 1-2-year or more post-secondary education is an advantage
- Previous experience in quality assurance is an advantage
- Knowledge of Quality Management concepts is an advantage
