Overview

Provides Epic training for all NHMG team members and enhances team member competency in electronic documentation.  Supports Novant Health as a leader in the Epic electronic medical record through the ongoing delivery of classroom training and monitoring of the Dimensions Ambulatory Training Program.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.  Minimum two years education and training and/or minimum two years healthcare experience required. 

 

Experience with education and training and prior experience with EPIC applications preferred. 

 

Knowledge of current and future trends/practices in education and training.  Possess interpersonal relationship skills; experience in principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models, team/classroom facilitation; office and AV equipment; delegation and communication skills, resource management; understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Encourages and inspires NHMG team members to be successful in meeting educational requirements necessary for their job role. Supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of Dimensions Ambulatory education and training for Novant Health Medical Group across all markets. Contributes to special projects that aim at improving Dimensions functionality. Maintains current in key Epic applications and new functionality.  Participates in education and training that enhances skills as educators.  Takes ownership for personal development and pursuit of desired career path.  Attends workshops and educational offerings to improve understanding of Epic functionality and to bring innovation to training. 
  • Training: Credentialed in the one major Epic Ambulatory applications (EpicCare, Cadence and Resolute) and actively trains courses in this application. Supports Dimensions Principal Trainers with review of Dimensions training materials and testing new functionality. 
  • Teamwork: Ensures a collaborative relationship with NHMG Practice Leaders, Corporate Education, NHMG Dimensions Optimization and Innovation, NHMG Clinician Development and Support, and key Novant Health leaders that fosters positive communication, collegial sharing of job responsibilities, and a spirit of partnership. Creates an environment that engages team members in accomplishing key functions for their role while improving job satisfaction. Works collaboratively with Dimensions Principal Trainers to promote a coordinated training program.
  • Quality Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve education delivery and participates in improvement initiatives. Assists in the evaluation of educational activities to determine effectiveness.  Participates in auditing and monitoring of training as directed. Serves as change agent in order to help shift individuals, teams, and markets from current state to desired state.
  • Communication: Utilizes effective communication methods to deliver information that improves quality of personal and organizational decisions. Shares responsibility for effective internal communications through a team approach.  Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity.  Collaborates with other NHmg disciplines to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrates customer-oriented behaviors and exhibits Novant Health’s service standards. Anticipates and exceeds customer needs and provides appropriate service recovery when necessary.  Models the People Credo.
  • Responsible and accountable for travel and accommodations associated with training and education beyond the normal customary work drive. Submits reimbursement within a timely manner.
