The Psychiatric Tech Sr is responsible for assisting with care of psychiatric patients from young adults up the age continuum through geriatrics under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. They serve as a role model and mentor for the psychiatric techs and display a high level of knowledge regarding therapeutic interaction, milieu management, and safety behaviors. Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- Experience: Two years in a direct care role in a behavioral healthcare setting, required. One to two years in a supervisory/managerial role, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: CPI within three months of hire, required. CPI Trainer, preferred.
- Additional Skills (preferred):
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care philosophy and ability to care for patients utilizing a trauma informed approach.
- Ability to perform all CPI physical holds.
- Ability to care for Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder age specific patients within the facility.
