About the Role
The Director of MarTech Product Management, Product Owner, Web Platform prioritizes and delivers a product vision and roadmap that satisfies established strategy, business goals, and customer needs. As Product Owner of Web Platform, this associate will be responsible for guiding ongoing US content management system strategy, feature/functionality business case analysis and governance, and customer experience strategy supporting a growing
business portfolio of over 50 commercial websites covering all strategic Novartis brand presence in the US.
This role will report directly into the Executive Director, Websites/CMS, partnering with Digital Trust, Content Enablement, UX, Enterprise IT, and other teams to design customer-centered approaches that meet aligned enterprise
business objectives and customer (both patient and HCP) needs throughout the product lifecycle, from build, to launch and run).
A qualified candidate will display proven experience with large-scale content management system implementation, design systems, and agile servant leadership with a globally distributed scrum team. The ability to work closely with technical and data teams to translate business requirements and user needs to architecture and product solutions will also be a key factor in the success of the web product team.
Major Accountabilities:
VISION Co-creates product strategic vision with web product strategy team and articulates the “What” and the “Why”, based on a deep understanding of customer’s jobs-to-be-done
OPERATING MODEL Partner in the enterprise approach to operationalizing the product pursuant to the strategic vision, enabling pull-through to happen at the brand or ground level
ROADMAP Collaborates with the team to create and align the web product roadmap to the 3-year enterprise Martech product vision and strategy for technology within the Integrated Marketing & Customer Experience organization[IL1] [SL2] [IL3]
BACKLOG Owns the product backlog and oversees ongoing backlog refinement throughout product lifecycle, leveraging insights and analytics to make informed recommendations and decisions
ARTIFACTS Works with Solution Architect / Technical Product Lead to create and manage artifacts (e.g product epics and stories in canonical format) that create clarity for the team[CH4] [SL5]
BUDGET & PLANNING Participate in ongoing planning efforts, including budgeting and planning, as well as defining group objectives and key metrics that support the overall Integrated Marketing & Customer Experience organization’s objectives for web
BUDGET & PLANNING Manage, in partnership with Novartis IT, third-party contracts related to product platform and operations, including RFPs where relevant, renewals, and assessing against value received
LEADERSHIP Creates autonomy and psychological safety for the Product team
LEADERSHIP Acts as a servant leader, removing organizational impediments (resources and processes) outside of the scrum team and clearing dependencies
What you’ll bring to the role:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in the related field is required; a Master of Science and/or MBA is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of related technical experience in Product Management, or similar, with multi-functional experience across Commercial Operations and/or Marketing,
Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading product management of
Minimum of 3 years of experience in operating effective marketing technology configurations and integrations that drive performance and enable effective customer engagement and marketing activities. Relevant experience in transforming the businesses through personalized engagement and related product management operations.
Understanding of regulatory, compliance privacy and legal guardrails and policies, including
Effective cross-functional collaboration with various stakeholders and teams including Product, Marketing, Sales, Technology Transformation, Communications, Privacy, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance and Global and external vendors
Detail-oriented with the ability to lead Change Management while manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
Experience in Life Sciences, including (Pharmaceutical, and Healthcare), Financial Services, or Consumer Packaged Goods, preferred
Demonstrated understanding of analytics to generate insights and market knowledge with an ability to translate to user stories preferred
Familiarity with agile approaches to marketing strategy and execution preferred
