What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Nox Health?
The Senior Accountant prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and
analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting,
reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies. Maintains general ledger and performs month-end close
procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen
- internal controls, accounting systems, procedures and improve efficiency
- Assist with establishing and enforcing adherence to proper accounting methods, company policies and cost
- containment
- Assist with Monthly and Year-end closing processes including preparation of: closing entries, reconciliations,
- fixed asset schedules, financial reports, metrics, AR Aging, ad hoc reports
- Assist with annual audit by providing requested schedules, reconciliations and answers to external auditor
- questions
- Assist and ensure adherence to established departmental metrics for: billing, receivables, collections, payables,
- cash receipts, cash disbursements, general ledger and financial reporting
- Assist with management of corporate business filings to ensure compliance including: Sales Tax, Franchise Tax,
- Property Tax, business licenses and registrations
- Maintain schedules and records related to Fixed Assets and monthly reconciliation of
- Depreciation/Amortization expenses
- Maintain corporate and department filing system of documents and transactions
- Ensure compliance with GAAP
- Perform other clerical and accounting duties associated with the Accounting department
- Participates in departmental and organizational meetings, training and other duties
- Other duties as assigned
- BBA or equivalent in Accounting
- 2 years prior experience as a Staff or Senior Accountant. Thorough knowledge, understanding, & experience processing full cycle accounting transactions, general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. CPA track and/or Public Accounting Experience preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel Skills
- In depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience in the following applications highly desired: ERP systems (e.g. Intacct, Navision, etc),
- AvidXChange, Nexonia, Google Sheets/Docs
- Highly organized with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter who is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Primarily works in an office environment
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time with some standing and walking required
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. as office supplies and packages arrive and must be distributed to others
