What are the responsibilities and job description for the Color Shading Operator position at NPAA?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Tests of finished products. Testing includes: Viscosity, Solids, Grind check, Wet Resistivity, Film Thickness, Cure testing and any other testing that may be required of any finished product.
- Adjusts any product that does not meet the company or customer specifications and with the assistance of the Leadman, determines the best method of correcting the problem.
- Prepares paint samples for spraying and applies prepared paint samples using a variety of equipment such as Handspray, Graco Pro-Static, and ABB Bell type spray guns. This will include manual use or with the use of Spraymation equipment
- Develops color reports on prepared panels for color evaluation through the use of various different color measurement computers such as X-Rite, Minolta, & X-Rite i5.
- Physically makes production batch adjustments for color in both Small and Large Paint.
- Identifies potential off-quality products during the process and initiates appropriate corrective actions through established company abnormal process.
- Operate equipment in the Small and Large Paint Plants to make batch additions that are required.
- Prepares color panel packages for shipment to customer.
- Utilizes company IT equipment such as SAP, Microsoft Access Database, & Microsoft Office to complete orders in the Shading process.
- Maintains housekeeping within the lab and production areas.
- Maintains all testing and spraying equipment.
- Perform job activities in Operations areas outside of Shading as required.
- Follows and Adheres to Company Safety Policies.
- Follows and Adheres to Company Standard Operating Procedures
- Move waste from generation point to 90-day Storage Area.
- Properly close and label waste containers using NB Coatings procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION
- High School Diploma or GED
- Passing Color Test Score (Score under 30)
- Passing Math Test
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries, and/or complaints
- Displays courtesy, tact and respect when dealing with others.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to wear a respirator/all necessary PPE – including being clean shaven for respirator use
- Ability to work with isocyanate
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates a commitment to teamwork
- Maintains a strong attention to detail
- Developed computer skills in Excel, Word and other office programs
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to work any shift hours and overtime in order to meet the needs of the business.
