POSITION SUMMARY:
This position plans, directs, and coordinates engineering projects in industrial plant environment from conception through start up.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position oversees the design, construction and commissioning of new projects related to New Manufacturing Processes,
Improvement of Existing Processes, Facility Support/Infrastructure Systems.
• Prepares designs and layouts for review
• Prepares specifications for bids, evaluates bids, and make recommendations
• Provides technical assistance on problems in maintenance areas
• Estimates labor and material requirements for engineering construction projects
• Designs electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems
• Monitors and adheres to recommended safety requirements
• Regular contact with others outside the work group
• Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
• Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer perceptions
• Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
• Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities

Position also provides general technical support to the business by participating in process studies and various
Operations improvement teams.
• Project management functions include:
• Project Definition – Problem evaluation, goal deliberation, scope development. 25%.
• Project Preparation – Engineering design, estimating/budgeting, scheduling, bid package preparation. 25%.
• Project Execution – Construction supervision, personnel training, commissioning, start-up. 35%.
• General Technical Support to the Business – Maintenance support, Process studies, Operations improvement
teams, mentoring of Process Engineers, etc. 15%.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical).
• 3-5 years experience working in an engineering or operations capacity at a chemical manufacturing
facility.
• Previous experience managing capital projects & supervising outside contractors a plus. Previous
knowledge of paint & coatings processes also advantageous.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques
• High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
