Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to derive accurate pricing for all natural gas deals in a timely manner according to established priorities. This fast-paced position requires the Pricing Analyst to actively manage many pricing proposals simultaneously, validating data inputs while ensuring accurate and timely outputs to provide our Sales teams with prompt and competitive pricing for new and existing customers. The Pricing Analyst will work closely with Sales and Gas Operations to determine correct volumes and pricing and will also interact with IT, Billing, Contract Administration, and Legal as required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Price all natural gas deals either manually or through internal systems in a timely manner according to established priorities.
- Ensure accurate deal structure and maintain the integrity of the system data.
- Maintain various pricing related tables to ensure accuracy.
- Calculate all liquidations and prepare monthly reports for senior management.
- Determine appropriate deal volumes based on historical volumes and weather trends.
- Recommend system improvements: work with IT on implementation systems testing
- Assist in resolving billing discrepancies, working closely with the billing group, and correcting database anomalies.
- Perform various analyses and studies as required to assess the impacts of changing gas industry dynamics on our pricing curves
- Provide expertise on LDC tariff provisions as they relate to individual customer rate classes.
- Expertise as it relates to capacity configurations and modeling
- Maintain accurate COG generation for both Basis Blend and Capacity Assigned LDCs
- Communicate all conditions related to changes in programs, tariffs & market dynamics.
Working Conditions:
- Open office environment.
- Some overtime required as special projects arise.
- Minimal to no travel
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience with a demonstrated understanding of gas markets a plus
- Minimum of 2-4 years of business experience
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong quantitative analytical, problem solving and research skills with quality decision making ability
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel (Macros/VBA, Building Formulas including data set functions, Data simulations and validation and database management).
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of natural gas markets is preferred.
