What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at NRI, Inc.?
Government organization is seeking an experienced Technical Writer with the following capabilities:
Researches, writes and edits materials that are complex or controversial, and read by a diverse audience. Develops and synthesizes final copy based on material submitted by others. Frequently, the submitted material is in outline form or written for publication and requires extensive rewriting, reorganizing, and editing. Establishes policies for style, readability, and consistency for all scripts, signage, and publications produced. Evaluates preliminary drafts and offers suggestions to project directors, curators, .and/or designers on presentation of subject matter and visuals for a target audience. Recommends inclusion of additional visuals or information or condenses the material to suit the constraints of design. Ensures that the language level is appropriate for the stated audience and that the necessary background information is provided. Uses various computer programs and desktop publishing applications to prepare publications in final format. Recommends the inclusion of visual/graphic aids to enhance the publication, overseeing the* design of page layouts and arrangements of text and illustrations.
