National Account Manager- Electrical Distribution
Huntersville, NC

We are looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join our team. You will be mainly responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with strategic accounts. You will also collaborate with a team of Regional Vice Presidents and Regional Managers to increase sales and profitability.

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

As a National account manager, you will be focused on targeted strategic National Distributors in the Electrical Industry to achieve sales growth for NSI Industries brand products. Sales focus will be to promote our value proposition to key decision makers and buying influences at every level of the National Account organization. A top goal will be to align NSI strategic initiatives to the National Accounts market strategies, creating opportunities for additional product support nationally.  The candidate should be organized and able to analyze performance metrics. We also expect you to have good negotiation skills and the ability to foster relationships with customers. Ultimately, you should be able to facilitate communication with customers and build long-term relationships to achieve business goals.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report to Director, National Accounts
  • Establish business relationships with Sr. Level Management at Strategic National Accounts across the United States and Canada.
  • Network within strategic accounts to identify and address specific needs.
  • Gain understanding of the National Accounts complex organization, markets served and strategic initiatives.
  • Align NSI value proposition to National Accounts strategic initiatives.
  • Develop strategic plan to achieve sales growth year over year.
  • Support Regional Sales teams with plan to create opportunities for product placement across a National Account organization.
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams ensuring clients’ requirements are met
  • Set and monitor sales targets for Regional Sales Managers
  • This role requires someone who is creative in development of promotions and launching them nationally and tracking progress.
  • Negotiate pricing and long-term contracts to achieve maximum sustainable gross margin levels as set by management.
  • Attend key customer shows and National Market shows for the Markets covered.
  • Follow up on all Trade Show leads to determine if there is business potential.
  • Ensure brand consistency
  • Collect and analyze sales data and trends
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings, according to company standards
  • Liaise with Sales and Marketing departments to set and implement strategies for new products
  • Stay up to date with internal and external developments and suggest new ways to increase sales

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven work experience as a National account manager
  • Solid experience in sales and customer service
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and meeting client’s requirements
  • In-depth understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Hands on experience with CRM software and MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to prepare presentation content to be delivered in person or virtually
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members

 

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES

  • Will present customers with NSI Industries products, in a professional fashion that will win over accounts.
  • Utilizes organizational ability to manage multiple programs with each customer, as well as to work closely with our internal sales support group, to win new business.
  • Provide technical and sales support to key contacts in addition to internal NSi technical and managerial personnel.
  • Work to an outlined/targeted budget and report back thru management on progress toward the end budget numbers.
  • Provide guidance in the development of RFQ response, contracts, schedules, Quality Alerts and other systems and process requirements.

REQUISITE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A college degree in Business Administration or other relevant discipline or equivalent work and educational experience is required.
  • Proven track record of calling on National Accounts is an absolute MUST and MUST be reflected in your resume.
  • Proven existing relationships with targeted strategic accounts.
  • A minimum of eight years of industrial sales/management or other relevant experience calling on Electrical Distribution.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 70% within a large territory on a weekly basis
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal.
