An assistant teacher provides direct assistance to the Teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children; may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. Additional duties include, meal prep and clean-up, grocery shopping, room cleaning and maintenance, and bus monitoring.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood and the ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner are essential job skills.
These positions are Monday-Friday for a minimum of 37.5 per week for approximately 37-40 weeks/year.
A GED or high school diploma, clearances, and a physical are required. CPR and First Aid Certification must be obtained.
Candidates with an associate degree in ECE or HDFS or those with a CDA are encouraged to apply. A CDA (Child Development Associate Certificate) must be earned within two years of starting in our employ. This is a 120-hour training and is paid for by our company.
