• Contract, 9 Months (Likely Extension)
• This position is remote. With that said, candidates who reside in a commutable distance to Reston, VA to consider working onsite once or twice per week will be prioritized but are not required.

Responsibilities
Our client is looking for three (3) Senior Software Development Engineers in Test to support a mandate project called ‘Member Transition’ – where the US Postal Service has selected our client’s services to provide US Postal benefits under a federal program. Week-to-week responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing user stories and acceptance criteria and preparing in-sprint automated test scripts for Web/UI and Web Services.
• Coding automation scripts utilizing tools such as Selenium, SoapUI, Cucumber and BDD Framework.
• Creating, maintaining, and updating the automation framework in alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Preparing test plans and test cases with pre-determined results.
• Executing tests and reviews test data within specified scheduled dates.
• Analyzing test and operational problems to determine presence and scope of potential code defects.
• Reporting errors through a structured defect tracking process in Jira.
• Communicating weekly with management verbally and in writing detailed status reports.
• Scheduling Jenkins jobs and executing automated regression suites and smoke test suites in CI/CD Pipeline.
• Developing and maintaining business and technical knowledge through training, testing workshops, reading, and research, etc.
• Coordinating with customers to resolve issues and verifying satisfaction of internal and external customer requests.
• Participating in project work group meetings (internal/external peer reviews, walk through, status meetings, Software Process Improvement, JAD sessions, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience

• 6 years of IT experience with 5 years of experience in automated software testing.
• 2 years of experience in healthcare claims processing with understanding of 837 file format.
• Strong experience with Selenium, Cucumber, and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) testing framework.
• Experience using Java in a Selenium environment.
• Experience using Gherkin in a Cucumber environment.
• Experience in web services testing automation using SoapUI or similar API testing tool.
• Experience using Jira for reporting and defect tracking.
• Experience with test automation framework architectural design.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and running complex database queries using SQL and/or PL/SQL.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in small teams.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience in mobile testing automation using Appium.
