We are currently seeking a Systems Administration Specialist to join our team in Newport News, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administration Specialist to join our team. As a Systems Administration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with DOD regulations and requirements, identifying potential cyber risks and vulnerabilities, and improving the cybersecurity posture within our DOD environment.This position is located in Newport News, VA and will require daily onsite presence. This position will provide customer support within a Hybrid Agile Enterprise Environment. Candidate should be a "self-starter" with the ability to work independently with little to no oversight. The ability to research problems to develop, present, and implement full solutions after appropriate approval is imperative to the success of this project. The ability to work in a mixed stakeholder environment while maintaining fidelity of information is also required. Exceptional attention to detail and overall organizational abilities are crucial to the success of the project.

Job Duties:

• Provide daily task level updates to project/program manager
• Independently analyze and apply information to effectively manage patching and vulnerability remediation using specialized tools like Nessus.
• Perform system installation, customization, and ongoing maintenance across diverse environments, encompassing Windows Server 2019, Windows 10, Linux (e.g., RHEL), and VMware.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to provide operational recommendations and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Participate in system compliance responsibilities such as performing STIG Checklists

Basic Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in administering, patching, or hardening Windows, Linux, or VMware environments.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using Nessus or other patch management software
• DOD 8570 IAT II compliant to include Security equivalent (or higher)
• Ability to obtain Operating system certification (Microsoft Windows, VMWare, or Comptia Server ) within 90 days of start
• Active Secret Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret clearance.
