This position is located in Lisle, Illinois, Region III, Division of Operating Reactor Safety, Engineering Branch 2. The supervisor is Jason Kozal.
This position is Non Bargaining Unit. The position requires approximately 25% travel. Selectee will be subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements.

Qualifications:
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience that demonstrates the potential to provide effective leadership and to assure organizational effectiveness in the areas of work processes and resource and equipment utilization, as well as a thorough knowledge of facility management, engineering methods, techniques and practices associated with reactor testing, maintenance, engineering, and operational programs.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of NRC regulations, regulatory guides, industry standards, and NRC manual chapters associated with the licensing and inspection of facilities regulated by the NRC.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of: (1) nuclear power plant operations, engineering, reactor physics, and physical security disciplines: and/or (2) health physics, materials facility operations, and radioactive source security, required to identify, analyze, and develop conclusions regarding assessments of licensee performance.
3. Knowledge of technical review and assessment techniques in response to events, enforcement actions, and allegations that is sufficient to provide support to investigation, special agency inspection, and emergency response.
4. Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, to NRC staff and management, licensees, other government agencies, elected officials, the public, the press and industry groups on varied complex and sometimes controversial technical problems.
5. Ability or potential to provide technical and programmatic leadership and to effectively utilize human resources. Ability or potential to supervise a technical staff as demonstrated by success in formulating program goals and objectives, planning program activities, coordinating and managing technical personnel, establishing methods for evaluating the effectiveness of work programs and procedures, and reviewing and evaluating technical findings and conclusions.
