ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and state and federal applicable laws.
- Performs interviewing, hiring, training, developing, rewarding of performance, motivation, and counseling of employees.
- Collaborate and communicate on a regular basis with management and staff to ensure company policies are disseminated and complied with.
- Work with all subordinates within the department a minimum of once per quarter and conduct evaluations in the areas of performance, policy adherence, and safety compliance.
- Conduct 1-1 meetings with each team member on a determined cadence to ensure performance goals are achieved and implement performance management as needed.
- Implement action plans to address short term issues or opportunities.
- Direct investigations into causes of customer or employee complaints, accident/incident reports, and responds accordingly.
- Maintain effective business relationships with key accounts and cross-functional partners aligned with the Business Development Department.
- Review employees’ budget, vacation and sick/personal time usage.
- Lead the organization’s business development process to identify and commercialize new products and services.
- Manage all phases of product development projects.
- Develop appropriate business case for proposed products / services utilizing cross-departmental collaboration from Legal, Safety and Regulatory, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales and Service, Operations, IT, and Human Resources.
- Assist with developing training curriculum for all new products and services.
- Continuously review and optimize the organization’s business development process with input from all departments.
- Perform other similar duties as required by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervising a business development team.
- Adhering to and enforcing the organization’s policies, procedures and Federal/State applicable laws.
- Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees for department.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work of subordinates.
- Appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Addressing employees’ concerns, complaints, and resolving those concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Effectively write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers and customers.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Creative and skilled leader with experience in product development, preferably in the foodservice or hospitality industry.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a high level of ambiguity.
- Ability to lead projects involving multiple departments across the organization.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel locally from a home-office base.
- Proficient computer skills. MS office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Project management experience required.
- Business / Product Development experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Agile knowledge is preferred
