Basic Job Functions:
Vulcraft Utah is seeking the position of Environmental Coordinator, this position has responsibility to ensure that the Vulcraft, Cold Finish, Wire Mesh and Grating operations are in compliance with local, state, federal and corporate environmental regulations and programs, as well as coordinate compliance with air regulations for NIPG and NBG Utah
- Provide leadership in all Environmental matters for Vulcraft Utah.
- Work with our environment consultants and Federal, State, and local agencies on all environmental compliance, permitting, reporting and correspondence (i.e. Air Permits, Wastewater, Hazardous and non-Hazardous waste).
- Represent Vulcraft Utah at Corporate and environmental meetings, training sessions, and plant audits.
- Maintain division environmental accreditation such as ISO 14001 or other system.
- Continuously improve and maintain the Environmental Management System.
- Oversee handling, recycling, and disposal of all waste streams.
- Participate in local environmental organizations and legislative advocacy programs.
- Lead environmental-related community outreach projects.
- Provide back-up support for the Safety Department and environmental needs of our Brigham City Divisions.
- Develop goals and track performance with respect to Nucor President’s Environmental Award criteria.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Willing and able to travel for up to a week at a time for meetings, audits, training, and quarterly internal audits.
- Proficiency with common software including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent
- Commitment to Safety, Quality, and Environmental Stewardship
- Previously demonstrated interest and involvement in Environmental systems and programs
- Previous participation on auditing teams
- Strong history of integrity, ethics, and honesty
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop relationships based on trust and respect
- Must possess effective leadership skills and competencies with the ability to work through teams
- Excellent communication skills - oral, written, and listening
- Ability to foster teamwork and open communication
- Excellent organizational and long-term planning skills with the ability to execute plans to achieve desired results
- Demonstrated ability to get things done
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects successfully
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use sound judgement
