Who We Are Looking For…
Nurture Life is looking for a key player to assist with the critical utility systems of our production facility. This team member will be responsible for the upkeep of the physical plant and all of the equipment in the facility. This individual will be assigned to other maintenance responsibilities not centered towards their specific skill set in order to help expand their trade skills and become more versatile to the maintenance team and company.
Essential Functions
- Possess strong mechanic, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Rebuilt and repair mechanical components including pneumatic cylinders/actuators/systems.
- Rebuilt and repair electrical components including controls transformers/relays/systems
- Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
- Repair or replace broken malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
- Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment or machinery.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing or repairs.
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeter or other testing equipment.
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
- Communicate constantly with machine operators and Production Managers to ensure all machines problems are addressed timely.
- Preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Experience working on PLC’s.
- Be able to work overtime if needed.
- Mechanic is required to supply their own hand tools and lockable tool box
- Lock out / tag out knowledge.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 1 year of maintenance mechanical experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, SQF, BRC, Allergens and Personal Protective Equipment.
Work environment and physical demands…
- The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving machines and forklifts in the production facility.
- Protective clothing or gear such as goggles, gloves and slip-resistant shoes, and other PPE may be required.
- Work will be performed in a cold environment (34-42 degrees) for extended periods of time, must be able to work in a cold environment with appropriate clothing.
- Work requires some physical strain such as long continuous periods of standing and walking in a production facility.
- Must be able to push, carry, lift and/or pull 50lbs or more
