Responsibilities
• Conduct scientific field investigations encompassing asbestos, mold, indoor air quality, moisture intrusion, and lead-based paint.• Execute field surveys, air monitoring, and sampling, maintaining a robust field presence throughout project activities.• Provide moisture mapping and water intrusion assessments, particularly in disaster response scenarios.• Perform Industrial Hygiene (IH) worker exposure monitoring for clients and contractors.• Ensure project activities adhere to specific job requirements.• Operate various IH and IAQ monitoring equipment, including noise dosimeters, photo-ionization detectors (PID), multi-gas monitors, carbon monoxide meters, carbon dioxide meters, and aerosol meters.• Participate in periodic meetings to discuss project activities and safety concerns.• Prepare well-documented written reports, correspondence, and communications.• Evaluate contractor work activities concerning occupant and worker health, regulatory compliance, and public safety.• Provide recommended engineering controls to project personnel.• Independently develop, maintain, implement, and supervise IH programs and services.• Craft technical reports based on the interpretation of complex data, observations, and current regulations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses:• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.• AHERA Building Inspector and Contractor Supervisor certifications with experience in asbestos surveys and abatement air monitoring.• NIOSH 582 certified PCM microscopist.• Proficient in the MS Office suite with experience in writing technical reports.Desired Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses:• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences.• CIEC certification or similar preferred.• Florida MRSA license and/or experience conducting moisture and mold investigations.• EPA Lead Inspector or Risk Assessor preferred.Working Conditions:• Primarily limited to the southeastern US, with periodic additional travel.• Frequent travel is required but is generally short-term (2-5 days). Longer trips may be requested.• Ability to climb a ladder and lift weights up to 30 pounds.• Periodic work in hot/humid environments.• Willingness to work in disaster environments (hurricane/disaster response).• Candidate will be subject to baseline medical exam and respiratory exam for fit test.
