Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Site Civil Design, including:
- Experience with structural steel design (RISA 3D preferred)
- Experience with Concrete and HMA pavement designs
- Experience with Foundation designs (RISA Foundations preferred)
- Developing specification packages for buildings, materials, and construction procedures
- Permitting experience is a plus
- Interface with clients; the development of bid specifications, qualifying, managing, and interfacing with subcontractors
- Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
- Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected dat
- Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project
- Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards
- Directly supports on-site Site Supervisors for project support during construction
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
Specific Knowledge & Skills
- An understanding on the interrelation of civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines on construction projects is a plus
- Experience in LNG, LPG, and/or natural gas is preferred, but applicable non-gas, industrial or utility experience will be considered
- Experience with industrial site design and construction
- MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
- AutoCAD Civil experience a plus
- Multi-tasking manage deadlines
- Ability to travel locally and nationally, potentially 10%-15% of the time
Education and/or Experience
- BS degree in Civil Engineering
- PE preferred but not required
- 8-10 years-experience preferred
