The Senior Analyst works to support the Team Lead, Associate Team Lead and Technical Specialists to ensure data flow and proper tasking within the team. This individual provides oversight to technicians and other analysts in support of the project at hand. This position will work individually and as part of a team to support data production in an ArcMap, Microstation and CADD environment; producing finalized data deliverables based on client requests. The Senior Analyst has knowledge of all aspects of the workflow and performs rigorous QA/QC and assists in training of analysts and technicians. A Senior Analyst produces consistent finished products and works to develop process efficiencies and improve methodologies.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Analyst will work with Team Lead and Technical Specialist to ensure projects are on track and help find solutions to tasking/workflow issues if areas need help.
- May fulfill the role of Project Technical Lead – planning, resourcing, strategizing, and developing task workflows for new projects.
- Take the initiative to improve processes, create/adapt tutorials, and innovate new tools.
- Aware of the status of all projects within the team, thus knowing how to determine priority, how they interact and when they could benefit each other.
- Performs as role model for the team, motivating staff to do their best and strengthening their skills.
- Exhibits product/client knowledge, shows critical thinking, technical confidence, and independence
- Initiates collaboration between task leads on a project
- Contributes to final quality control of client deliverables
- Understands client needs and meets them through the capabilities of our technology and industry standards
- Takes proactive steps towards tech lead abilities. Able to act as point of contact for several different tasks; works as a co-technical lead or takes on smaller, ad-hoc project requests in technical troubleshooting
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 year of experience in a professional GIS work environment, with specialization in PLS Cadd Modeling and Vegetation Management Detection Analysis
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
- Able to stay positive and flexible amongst constantly shifting priorities and workflow changes.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and limited direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 year of experience in a professional GIS work environment, with specialization in PLS Cadd Modeling and Vegetation Management Detection Analysis
- Master's degree, in geography, environmental studies/science, planning, or a related field with an emphasis in GIS
- Strong leader with skills in facilitation, training, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in ArcMap, MicroStation and PLS-CADD preferred.
- Experience with or knowledge of:
- Geographical Information Systems
- Mapping or analysis using LiDAR
- Transmission tower and distribution pole components (wire types, insulators, transformers)
The pay range for this California position is $28.90- $30.82 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
