Reviews shop operations packets, bill-of-material, and engineering drawing. Ensures incoming material is correct quantity/quality/part number. Selects parts, tools, and equipment required for quality assembly of complex components & systems. Follows Specification of inspections as noted. Dimensionally checks and tests production to insure assembled output meets requirements. Utilizes properly calibrated precision measuring instruments and electrical circuit testers when performing inspections. Packages completed components for shipment to customer, including: constructing skids; selecting packaging material; shrink wrapping components/skids; banding containers, printing shipping labels, etc. Performs operator maintenance & operational checks on all departmental tools & equipment. In performing assigned duties, frequently lifts/moves up to and including 75 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing are all required motions of the job. Operates material handling equipment when moving materials into, around, or out of the department. Receives daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor. Performs all work in accordance with acceptable quality standards. Performs all work in a safe manner, to include proper use of personal protective equipment. Maintains an accurate record of all work performed in the appropriate company format/form. Maintains work area, tools and equipment in a neat, clean and orderly manner. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Ability to read and write, in order to comply with written instructions and complete job-related paperwork. Electro-mechanical assembly experience required. 3-5 years of previous experience performing complex assembly operations preferred. The Assembly Operator III utilizes a variety of hand and power tools to perform advanced assembly of complex parts and units, integrating mechanical, plumbing, and electrical/electronic components, in accordance with quality and quantity standards.
