POSITION SUMMARY:
The Benefits & Leave Specialist is responsible for delivering outstanding support for the organization's U.S. benefit and leave programs, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and innovation. Additionally, the Benefits & Leave Specialist performs routine analyses to inform key strategic decisions and improve program design, process, and governance, driving best practice and velocity for nVent.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Support administration of nVent benefit plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), critical illness, accident, well-being, ID theft and 401(k)
- Partner with nVent benefits team, vendors and broker to annually review nVent benefit plans, market trends and benefit costs to support recommendations for benefit program updates
- Collect, organize and analyze data for various compliance-related requirements including but not limited to, annual 401(k) audit, non-discrimination testing for Cafeteria and 401(k) Plans and ACA reporting
- Perform routine audits of human resources system data, participant enrollments and contributions to ensure accuracy for payroll, funding and billing purposes
- Ensure ongoing compliance with legal requirements for both benefits and leaves of absence
- Support the development and distribution of benefits communications and documentation.
- Work with the leave of absence third-party administrator and HR business partners to administer and monitor leaves of absence and return to work programs to ensure a smooth transition and leave process
- Pursue continuous improvement opportunities within the leave of absence process and contribute to leave of absence training
- Maintain knowledge of nVent disability plans as well as all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA and ADA, and effectively interpret implications as they relate to leaves of absence
YOU HAVE:
- Academic background in:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance or related field
- Previous experience in or with:
- 2 - 3 years of Benefits and leave of absence administration experience
- Strong desire and motivation to develop and continue upward movement in your career in HR
- Skills / abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools especially Excel, PowerPoint as well as Microsoft Teams
- Proven ability to follow through on tasks with the utmost accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly-accountable self-starter, comfortable working fairly independently as well as displaying strong team collaboration
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
