This position is located in Solon OH, and will report directly to the environmental, health and safety (EHS) director. Be a champion for change through the development, maintenance and execution EHS programs to provide a safe and sustainable work environment while maintaining compliance with regulatory obligations. In this position, you will: Facilitate EHS objectives by providing clear and continuous direction. Maintain strong shop floor presence and be considered a key point of contact for safety, health and environmental related inquiries. Apply proactive safety methodology and deploy improvements as needed. Monitor applicable EHS regulatory requirements and risk initiatives; analyze potential impacts; provide operations leadership information as appropriate. Manage environmental processes to ensure nVent and regulatory requirements are met in relation to waste management, water discharge & air permitting obligations. Coordinate and engage plant personnel and other personnel in the identification, development and implementation of EHS goals which will positively impact and contribute to the organization. Manage EHS documents, vendor contract and permit administration. Assist with workers compensation cases, working with human resources and legal teams. Facilitate the incident reporting process and participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis. Facilitate required EHS training to ensure all regulatory and company obligations are met. Identify needed support from outside consultants, develop scope of work and manage issuance of contracts or permits as needed. Coordinate behavior based safety and ergonomic improvement activities. Qualifications and Experience Academic background in Industrial Engineering, Science, Safety or Environmental. Experience may be substituted. 7 years of progressive experience leading safety and/or environmental management systems and processes preferred. Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and the ability to apply such in the manufacturing setting. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with knowledge of Lean methodologies. Ability to influence prioritization of activities to maintain compliance.
