What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Project Leader position at nvent?

This position can be located in either the Houston or Minneapolis metro areas and will be a hybrid arrangement (on average, 3 days working in the office, two days working from home). If you are located in the Minneapolis area, frequent travel will be required down to Houston in the first year as this position will support our HOFFMAN composites product line which is produced in our Houston plant. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Join a high growth R&D Engineering team that is focused on growth and development within our extensive HOFFMAN product line! Develop and craft products from Discover, through Develop and Deploy and launch in a timely manner. You will partner with Marketing to survey our industry to identify vectors of growth and disruption, and then develop products and technologies that can be applied to address the identified vectors. Lead simultaneous cross-functional teams that launch products by taking market specifications from design to prototype to production. Partner with Sales and Marketing to partner with customers, engage in industry partnerships, and establish other relationships enabling us to advance our product and technology reach. Translate customer needs into product specifications. Lead and direct cross functional product development teams. Apply specific technological expertise to specific projects. Coordinate and maintain product development schedules. Direct outside activities such as regulatory or other third party testing. Establish test specifications and protocols. Assist in the development of product roadmaps. YOU HAVE: BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Ideally several years of related product development/engineering experience. Project management experience along with designation/certification preferred. Nice to have exposure to reliability analysis, electrical & electronics knowledge. Proven skill to build and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Ability to build effective work relationships internally and externally (customers, suppliers, etc.). Ability to ensure resource availability and allocation and develop a detailed project plan to track progress. Must be able to be hands-on with projects. Familiarity with industrial manufacturing equipment preferred. Ability to learn and become an expert on digital platforms such as PLM software, ERP systems and understand methods for integration. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a fast paced team environment in a self-directed manner.
