WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THE POSITION:
IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL GET TO:
- Conduct testing in accordance with standard procedures using various electrical, material, and mechanical test methods and instruments.
- Follow test plans with limited oversight from Sustaining manager or engineer.
- Acquire materials from inventory and assemble test samples and prototypes.
- Provide laboratory support to Operations, Approvals, Supply Chain, Product Management, and New Product Development.
- Perform standards and approvals testing and obtain certification through witness testing.
- Generate summaries of data collected, including graphical and statistical analysis, for work related to assignments. Provide feedback to engineers and the project team.
- Train on new test methods.
- As needed, propose the most appropriate solution among a set of learned possible choices. Exercise judgment in line with established processes and standards. Follow set guidelines and procedures with some flexibility and creativity without sacrificing safety or quality standards.
- Be knowledgeable of and compliant with local safety procedures and policies.
- Manage, calibrate, and maintain the inspection, measurement, and test equipment and laboratory spaces.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical testing instrumentation.
YOU HAVE:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous Experience in or with:
- 1 years hands on lab testing experience
- Experience with electrical testing a plus
- Ability to:
- Construct test samples with minimal supervision
- Conduct technical experiments
- Use electrical test equipment
- Gather and organize data from tests
- Perform basic analysis on data
- Communicate observations and results
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Machining experience is a plus
- Drafting experience is a plus
