Responsibilities and Duties:
· Responsibility is to assign work to team members and to ensure that all tasks are being worked by the team in a timely and cost-effective manner
· Oversee and resolve issues that might arise with team and customer
· Make sure all material/systems are updated

· Strong math, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential for the success of procurement lead. They should be detail-oriented team players, possessing negotiation skills and the ability to work independently as needed. An understanding of business operations and processes is important to their work. Additionally, procurement needs strong interpersonal skills, as they work with a diverse number of people, such as team members, customer, managers and supervisors.
This role support includes but is not limited to: Simplified Acquisition Team, procurement and administrative services, agency contracting, training purchases, grants and agreements and the SBIR/STTR programs
· Provide input on process improvements within the department
· Assist management in providing for safety and security of the workplace
· The ability to gain a working knowledge of procurement policies and procedures
· Exercise of independent judgement and discretion on matters of significance
· Remains current on new processes and systems to ensure best procurement practices and strategies
· This position requires a high-level of independent judgment, analytical skill, and decision-making
· Clear, concise, oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and understand technical data and manuals
· Maintain an understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to procurement

Qualifications:
Education level: Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business administration or related field, or equivalent number of years of contract experience.
Experience:
At least 3-5 years of experience in professional procurement, purchasing, contracts, preferably in a government agency, which includes the drafting of complex contracts, including provisions, and solicitation documents. Possession of a directly related post-graduate degree may be substituted for one of the two years of required experience.
A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree maybe substituted for required work experience. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both verbally and in writing. He/she must have good computer skills and the ability to learn and implement new programs as assigned.
