NWF Strategies is seeking a field organizer to support a federal level campaign in 2024. Please attach your resume as a PDF and provide 3 separate references in your application.
Field Organizers are vital to the success of the campaign. Field Organizers will assist with our direct field operations to help build relationships with voters in Alaska House of Representatives District 37 and increase voter turnout. The Field Organizer will be responsible for day-to-day management of volunteers and fellows. The primary responsibility of the Field Organizer will be recruiting, training, managing, and energizing volunteers, organizing and facilitating events, and representing the campaign at events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers
- Assist the Field Director with administrative tasks
- Attend, co-led, and co-organize house parties trainings
- Provide leadership, resources, guidance, and technical support to volunteers in every stage of the campaign
- Launch phone banks and canvasses in an effective, timely manner
- Meet weekly door knocking and phone call requirements
- Ensure that volunteers properly perform their roles and maintain accurate and reliable data
- Check in with Field Director on a daily basis to flag success/challenges
- Provide the Field Director with daily quantitative and qualitative reports as part of an ongoing evaluation of the program’s success
Experience, Skills, and Characteristics
A minimum of three months field experience as an organizer or a volunteer
- Proficiency in VAN (Voter Activation Network) is highly encouraged. Experience with Mobilize, Reach, Scale to Win, or similar system(s) is preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Google Suite is highly encouraged
- Relational organizing and/or distributed organizing experience is highly preferred, but not required
- Willingness to work irregular hours and weekends
- Access to reliable transportation, smartphone and computer
- Ability to travel across the Anchorage area.
- High emotional intelligence - ability to work with volunteers and coalition partners
- Ability to give and receive feedback
- Passion about creating an anti-oppression workplace where volunteers from diverse backgrounds feel safe and respected
- Accountability and ownership
- Self-starter with great time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong commitment to progressive values
*Ideally candidates will be located in near the Alaska House of Representatives District 37 (Dillingham / Aniak / Sand Point/ Manokotak/ Unalaska) area.
