What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sous Chef position at Nye Pointe?
Position Summary
Direct and participate in the timely preparation of quality food items for residents/tenants, guests, and team members in accordance with recipes, menus, and diet orders as well as our established company policies and procedures, standards, and guidelines; and current federal State, and local laws and regulations governing the campus and as directed by the supervisor by performing the following duties.
In this role you will:
- Provide support to other kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
- Monitor/inspect and maintain pantries, refrigerators, freezers and other culinary equipment and supplies to ensure that stock levels are maintained and safety and sanitary quality standards are met.
- Monitor resident/tenants and report any problems, changes or concerns.
- Ensure kitchen, dining, and working areas are clean and neat.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Certification in Culinary Arts or related field from college or technical school and/or one (1) year related restaurant experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Experience in quality food preparation and production in Long Term or Acute Care setting preferred, but not required
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
