For over fifty years, New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) has honored its founder Arthur Ashe’s legacy by celebrating the diversity of children, encouraging them to reach their highest potential through free tennis and academic programs. NYJTL is the largest provider of youth tennis and education programs in the nation, providing services in 100 unique sites across all five boroughs while reaching 85,000 kids. In addition, NYJTL designed, funded (with NYC), built and operates the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the South Bronx. All NYJTL community tennis and after school programs are offered at no cost to its participants.

Position Summary
The Development Associate will report to and work closely with the Director of Philanthropy to support the operations and smooth functioning of the development department. They will assist with a full range of tasks, including gift processing, fundraising campaigns, donor database maintenance, as well as analysis and reconciliation. Core Responsibilities
- Assist with the research and creation of donor profiles and new leads
- Prepare written communication for the solicitation of prospective institutional funders and individuals
- Engage donor community through offline and digital correspondence including reports, kits and materials
- Correspond with donors regarding gift proposals, acknowledgment and next steps
- Collaborate with the marketing team on digital collateral, company swag, and website presence
- Provide operational support for the annual gala and other special events, as needed
- Maintain records in Raiser’s Edge donor database including client information, mailing lists, accurate coding
- Create and run tracking reports and maintain accurate dashboards
- Partner with Finance on revenue reconciliation
- Collaborate with Information Technology to stay current on Raiser’s Edge software updates, security patches and external threats
- Respond to development-related enquiries and requests for information from internal staff
- Manage NYJTL's volunteer recruiting and onboarding
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, English, Journalism or related field
- 2 years' experience with any of the following: fundraising, campaigns, newsletters, publishing, event planning, direct sales, customer service, marketing
- Prior experience with donor management software (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, etc.) strongly preferred
- Technologically savvy and comfortable using social media and other online platforms
- Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills
- Interest in tennis, community service, youth development, education
- Hands-on approach to work execution
