KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety, Health & Environment:

Function/ Production:
  • Manage surveying files and data.
  • Work with Geology department to best establish survey control and providing information for face mapping
  • Monitor mine progress and establish mine survey control points as required.
  • Month end tonnage reconciliation by survey.
  • Maintain up to-date plans and as-builts.
  • Mark up faces as required using various methods including Brunton/tape and Total Station.
  • Ensure the surveying services are efficiently and effectively provided to Nyrstar group standards and statutory requirements, and in support of the Nyrstar Tennessee Mine’s strategic plan.
  • Ensure information is correct and safe for use.
  • Discuss and present information to the customer in a polite and helpful manner.
  • Support the Survey Team as required and to the wider MTS Department.
  • Responsible for ensuring training requirements of this role are met.
  • Consistently comply with policies, procedures, agreed values and behaviors and Nyrstar Code of Business Conduct.
  • Produce work to the quality and time frame required by the customer.
  • Work the required time frame to produce information/results for the customer
  • Keep Grade lines and lasers up to date per SOP.
  • Communicate with stakeholders concerning grade and heading deviation and provide daily maps to ensure cutsheets and centerline maps are being used.
  • Keep survey equipment clean and timely updating of software maintenance. Mark up and verify correct bulk mining rings plans.
  • Track monthly Cap Dev Progression for each mine in conjunction with Mine Engineers.
  • Keep up to date on best surveying practices, new methods, instrumentation, tools to complete surveying task safely and efficiently.
Essential:
  • Completion of high school diploma or GED.
  • Drafting experience
  • Previous survey experience, preferably in underground mine
  • Passed the NCEES Fundamentals Surveying exam
Desirable:
Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying & Mapping or Mining Engineering is preferred
