Job Description
Pay Rate - $30.72
The Maintenance Apprentice will assist the Journeyman Mechanics on installations, repairs, erecting, dismantling, assembling and maintaining all types of plant machinery, equipment, structures, and electrical or electronic equipment and component parts. This is a training position for Maintenance Journeyman.
The Maintenance Apprentice will:
- Work from complex blue prints, wiring diagrams, shop hand books, layouts and other specifications (written or verbal) to determine materials and working procedures needed in the maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and structures.
- Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical or electronic principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, principles of operation and application of electrical or electronic equipment such as motors, switches, control boards, generators, circuit breakers, electronic inspection units, etc.
- Assist in welds, braze, scrape, solder, cuts, etc. various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment
The Maintenance Apprentice should have:
- Ability to pass a mechanical skills test
- Experience with 440/480v electrical components.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
