    Job Description

    About the role:

    In this position you will have the exciting responsibility of refining disruptive technology implementations, supporting the preparation for production operation and replication, but also working in a cross-functional team that is developing something new and innovative for our global plants.

    Principal responsibilities: 

    • Review and provide feedback on technical specifications for equipment and systems compliant with technical, safety and best engineering practices.
    • Lead engineering work related to new electro-mechanical equipment installations (including but not limited to batch house systems, compressed air systems, cooling system, water, vacuum, combustion skids, fire protection, robots, servo mechanism, forming machines, hot end monitoring systems, etc.)
    • Lead commissioning and startup of disruptive mechanical technology.
    • Generate proper documentation as trip reports, technical analysis, lessons learned and provide feedback to the technology development group.
    • Design and implement improvements on technology prototypes to increase the performance consolidating maintenance and operation best practices.
    • Support the design and implementation of a maintenance and training program
    • Support project meetings, reporting on project status and issues and maintaining communication with contractors to effectively execute project tasks.
    • Coordinate activities between plants and R&D Technology development and/or third-party suppliers to keep mechanical systems specifications and operating conditions within recommended parameters.
    • Support other areas such as process control/electrical and infrastructure
    • Check compatibility and approval of documents and drawings from different vendors to ensure the success of projects.
    • Know and apply the technical standards relevant to your area of expertise.

    Technical Requirements:

    • Love glass and care about sustainability and the planet
    • You have a creative mindset, ability to think “big” and deliver innovative solutions.
    • Master's degree Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical or equivalent engineering field.
    • 5   years' experience in manufacturing plants / industry related jobs.
    • Experience with Natural Gas, Compressed Air, Ventilation, Material Storage, Robots, Servo mechanisms and Delivery systems.
    • Good knowledge in Project Management and is familiarized with Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent
    • You're a good communicator, you love to be challenged, and work within a diverse team
    • Be fascinated about the glass making process

    Travel Requirements:

    • Up to 25% of time - domestic and international travel

    Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between 82,200 and $102,800 USD (Annual).  Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
