APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time Regular (FTR)
LOCATION: Oak Ridge, TN or Hybrid (Partial telework available)
SALARY RANGE: $25.78 to $35.87 an hour
*Telework: Partial telework is available (Working from home 3-4 days a week and in office 1-2 days a week). This position will be required to work in the office in Oak Ridge, TN.
PURPOSE:
Under direct supervision, assists in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation and incentive policies, procedures, and programs.
Job Analysis:
- Research and pull job descriptions and salary information from various salary surveys.
- Complete job matrixes for Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) positions.
Salary Surveys:
- Compile data and match to survey job titles.
- Retrieve data for analysis.
Compensation Increase Plan (CIP) for Department of Energy (DOE):
- Assist in the creation and evaluation of Estimated Market Values (EMVs) for the CIP proposal.
- Assist in the creation of organizational unit Compensation budgets.
- Track CIP allocations throughout the Compensation year.
- Assist in updating the salary structure.
Compensation support for Request for Proposals (RFPs).
Assist with determining salary offers.
Variable Compensation:
- Administer the company's variable pay compensation programs in accordance with established policies.
- Assist with the administration of the incentive compensation programs.
- Assist with the Employee Awards System (EAS), ORAU High Five, Employee Referral, and Sign-on Bonus programs.
Compliance:
Service Contract Act
- Communicate Service Contract Act information to employees.
- Complete wage determination conformances as needed.
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Assist in maintaining compliance.
Tracking:
- Track and maintain compensation related documentation.
- Monitor the Compensation in-box.
- Create and track compensation related metrics.
Serve as the functional lead for the software utilized to run the annual salary cycle.
Perform special projects and assist within Human Resources as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and 0 to 2 years of Human Resources experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements.
- Ability to apply basic knowledge and quickly acquire more in-depth knowledge to successfully complete assignments.
- Ability to research and analyze general data and information to distill into focused and useful form.
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Able to effectively manage a demanding workload.
- Flexibility and the ability to multi-task and move from one task to another quickly are essential.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Oracle experience preferred.
- Preferred experience in compensation and/or human resources.
- Demonstrated excellent skills in verbal and written communication, customer service, teamwork and prioritizing multiple and competing tasks.
*The candidate's starting salary will be determined upon hire and ORAU will use salary survey data, internal comparators, and the candidate's qualifications to determine salary.
