Overview
To strengthen our Finance team, we are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist. The primary focus is to manage and audit union and non-union payroll input information, execute the transmission of payroll, research and resolve payroll related issues, and provide best in class customer service to employees. Ensures all payroll tasks are completed with adherence to internal compliance and policies. Uses payroll knowledge to proactively run, audit and validate accuracy of preliminary pay results through ADP EV5 Payroll Systems and provide payroll related analysis information to the team. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to manage aspects of payroll administration, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
This role will pay a salary of $73,000

This position will remain open until Dec 20, 2024.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review all payroll inputs from internal source – ABI Time Management System, to ensure accurate payroll processing for multiple payrolls.
- Process end to end ABI/ADP EV5 payroll for weekly employees following standard operating procedures and checklists - including calculating wages, deductions, and differentials.
- Administer various union processes, including union dues check off, benefit payments, and other elements relating to union payroll.
- Run audit reports and prepare payroll preliminary reconciliation.
- Maintain and coordinate employee personnel and benefits records.
- Maintain efficient payroll processes in compliance with federal, state, city, provincial, and local legislations.
- Generate manual or on-demand (off-cycle) checks, as necessary.
- Supervise Payroll Inbox - Respond to employee queries regarding payroll issues and provide accurate information and guidance.
- Liaise with the Benefits and People Team, on any employee related payroll issues such as retroactive results, benefits, leaves of absence, PTO, and special/ad-hoc circumstances.
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll procedures.
- Manage and reconcile benefit invoices monthly.
- Serves as a key team member in the Finance department to manage, post, reconcile weekly and bi-weekly Payroll and related General Ledger accounts, to ensure all financial transactions are accurately reflected in the company’s accounting system to meet month-end deadlines.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute payroll reports as required- Such as taxes, payroll registers, GL, overtime, balances, and retirement contributions.
- Assist with year-end projects and audits.
- Assist with other ad-hoc projects and drive process efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
- 3 years payroll experience processing multi-state payrolls for 1,000 employees.
- ADP Payroll Processing experience required.
- Experience working with weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
- Knowledge of Federal, State & Local tax laws is required.
- Must have extremely high-quality standards and be able to consistently deliver quality output.
