As a Family Support Specialist, you will work in a family support program in Trenton, Mercer County, NJ. The program assists families actively caring for or supporting an adult family member with a serious and persistent mental illness.
Responsibilities:
Conduct individual family support sessions, provide psycho education and phone consultation
Design and conduct psycho educational workshops
Support group and activity group facilitation
Outreach
Advocate for consumers and provide referrals

Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree (BA, BS, BSW) required with at least one (1 )year experience working within the mental health system
Master s degree (MA, MS, MSW) preferred in Counseling, Social Work or related field with clinical training in group work and in working with families
Knowledge and experience working with families
Knowledge of the mental health field in NJ and commitment to the principles of recovery
Experience of mental illness in family preferred but not required
Use of personal vehicle may be necessary at times
Vaccination required per EO 283
