Vice President, Finance and Operations, Global Opportunities

Our Strategy Global Opportunities is an all-weather strategy launched in 1988 that employs a broad and flexible investment charter to seek the most attractive public and private investment opportunities worldwide. These include providing proprietarily originated capital solutions in structured and risk-controlled ways to borrowers with limited access to funding; buying assets in out-of-favor industries; and creating platforms with superior management teams who seek to exploit attractive undervalued, niche, and/or dislocation opportunities. Responsibilities Oaktree’s Global Opportunities team is seeking an individual to join our portfolio management team in the Los Angeles office. This individual will partner closely with the Investment Team, Product Specialists, and Accounting to develop and manage a number of portfolio management dashboards and reports in a consistent and accurate manner. Responsibilities include: Creating, delivering and managing portfolio analyses, dashboards and reports to the investment team Developing a periodic screen of potential public credit opportunities and maintaining on a regular basis Overseeing the quarterly updates to the Fund models and investment projections Partnering with the ESG team to execute the Global Opportunities’ ESG integration plan Assessing current technology tools, identifying and then implementing technology improvements to aggregate data and reporting Managing the Global Opportunities’ fund invoice and expense analysis processes Performing other projects as assigned Qualifications Minimum 5-8 years of experience at an asset management company, investment bank or consulting company Experience utilizing SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to create standardized reports or dashboards Proven Excel and higher functioning spreadsheet skills Familiarity with traditional credit, alternative credit and private equity investments is preferred Knowledge of relevant reporting/dashboard outputs and metrics including performance reporting, risk metrics and portfolio characteristics Personal Attributes Outstanding initiative, ability to operate independently and a strong work ethic Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to leverage firm wide resources in an effective and judicious manner Detail-oriented and a natural problem solver; have the resolve to independently research problems and offer solutions Organized and able to manage multiple projects with differing priorities to meet deadlines Team-oriented and possess strong integrity and professionalism Passion for improving systems and processes Education Bachelor’s degree required.
