What are the responsibilities and job description for the SITES Assistant position at Oberlin?
The Oberlin College SITES Program invites applications for the position of Program Assistant. Assistants will draw on their experiences in the SITES program to help support, maintain, organize, and/or grow the program as a whole. Assistants may be asked to help observe SITES classes and give teaching feedback & recommendations to current SITES instructors. Additional tasks may be requested in collaboration with the Program Director, such as web design & upkeep for the SITES webpage (oberlinsites.org) and help in organizing and maintaining the SITES planning room in Mudd 201.
Responsibilities
- The program assistant’s job qualifications include being proactive, and assertive, understanding the program’s daily requirements, and working autonomously. Supporting new instructors, curricular demands, program planning, and organizing daily tasks are skills that are considered integral for this job.
- Respond promptly to all program-related emails, questions, and requests from the Program Director, the program liaison, and SITES participants.
- Additional projects related to our webpage upkeep, the library room upkeep, and our curricular development will be assigned as needed and as time allows.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a clear understanding of the SITES Program, how it’s organized, and what it needs to be successful.
Compensation
3-5 hours per week at $11/hour
