Purpose
The Workers' Compensation Analyst is primarily responsible for providing pricing and policy support related to Obsidian HR's workers' compensation policies. This role will provide critical process support around quoting, binding audit work, pricing, renewal analysis, and certificate management.
Responsibilities
- Own the quoting and binding process for all Obsidian HR clients on our workers' compensation program. Set and manage the process related to required documentation, and insurer/underwriter communication and ensure all clients are bound in a timely manner.
- Assist with state fund and residual market placements; work directly with state insurance departments as necessary.
- Make pricing/margin recommendations for prospects and clients. Own execution of the annual renewal process.
- Own the annual audit process for Obsidian HR's workers' compensation program.
- Support new prospects and existing business pricing requests following established guidelines, as requested. Product pricing and packaging include healthcare, workers' compensation, TDI, EPLI, and UI management offerings.
- Work collaboratively with sales operations and BDMs to resolve questions/concerns regarding prospect's information, and provide the appropriate information for proposals. Support the job code request processes with existing clients.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience
- 3 years of workers' compensation insurance-related work experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a business or a mathematics-related field preferred
- Able to evaluate insurance risk for various industries and company types and sizes
- Willing and able to consider both qualitative and quantitative information in the evaluation process
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, including working knowledge of common Excel formulas and features (lookup functions, Pivot Tables)
- Team Player - Willingness and effectively collaborates closely with our sales, sales operations, marketing, and client success teams to achieve individual and collective goals. Strong relationship-building skills.
- Analytical - Effectively utilizes reasoning skills to draw insightful conclusions from qualitative and quantitative data.

Salary: $25-35 per hour
