What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler position at OCCI, Inc.?
An OCCI Scheduler is responsible for coordinating with project teams to create and maintain individual project schedules and global internal schedules to allow for accurate forecasting and resource allocation in our construction and fabrication divisions. A skilled scheduler will deliver a work product timely and consistently meeting internal and client expectations, that drive results, aids in identifying risks and delivers projects on time and within budget.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Development of baseline schedules, per project or client specifications with properly sequenced work activities within two weeks of contract award
- Provides three-week look ahead to project team and senior management for all projects
- Combines all project schedules into global company schedule and communicates updates to stakeholders via formal or informal meetings or reports
- Evaluates schedule adherence and accuracy by project to identify improvements needed and alternate actions
- Interacts with engineering, fabrication, and construction professionals to communicate issues that may impact schedule.
- Resource loads schedules to assist management analysis of capital, human and equipment allocations
- Assess actual progress versus estimated progress to determine production trends or potential overruns.
- Communicates with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain their schedule updates and distribute regular project updates back to them when appropriate
- Assists with bidding, change order preparation and value engineering initiatives to explore and illustrate time impact analysis and ‘what-if’ scenarios
- Produce weekly and monthly reports with details on work progress and explanations of changes, lags, or variables.
- Conduct delay time impact analyses in claim assessments and negotiations
- Develops recovery schedules when needed with project Team clearly illustrating any outside impacts and resulting escalated costs
- Develops and maintains production database as a future estimating resource
- Actively participate in company-wide initiatives to further key company goals
Qualifications and Education
- 5 years of construction scheduling experience (heavy civil, bridge, and or structural steel construction preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business or equivalent (preferred)
- Highly proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project scheduling software
- Highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Willingness to Travel regularly to project sites

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
