We are currently looking for experienced, motivated, and creative individuals to fill an Operations Specialist position within Oxy’s Production Operations Team in Midland, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver shop tested PRD’s as necessary to field locations and/or projects to minimize downtime with contract PRD crews.
- Coordinate and support safe execution of PRD pop testing or tear down inspections at Oxy owned facilities and equipment.
- Support contractor PRD crews to efficiently execute inspection and testing, by providing replacement relief valves, parts, and keeping repair crews on task with minimal non-productive time.
- Serve as the focal point for communication/coordination with Oxy Operations
- Observe pressure relief device energy isolation (Lock/out Tag/out) or execute LOTO as needed
- Report disabled or damaged PRDs when discovered and assist creation of follow-on work orders.
- Report unidentified PRDs for technical assessment and provide information to SAP team when updates to SAP asset register are required for new or replacement relief valves.
- Maintain Company vehicle – inspect and maintain maintenance schedule
- Show ownership for equipment and PRD program.
- Input data into SAP as required.
- Input data into PRD reports and review PRD reports as required
- Prepare for and Participate in Safety and Business meetings.
- Review PRD failures for patterns and help develop solutions
- Understand MOC process and know when a new PRDs qualifies as a change or replacement in kind (RIK).
Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience in oil/gas industry
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of pressure relief device types and operating principles preferred but not required
- Strong initiative and self-starter
- Multi-task orientation with skills related to work prioritization
- Knowledge of LOTO and safe work permitting practices
- Working knowledge of oil and gas production surface operations preferred but will train acceptable candidate.
o Familiarity with Permian field production areas is preferred
- Understanding of importance of environmental and safe work practices
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervision
- Proficiency in the use of personal computer utilizing a windows environment
- General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Understanding of Business fundamentals
- Ability to implement cost effective solutions
- Ensures all safety precautions are taken while operating equipment. Must have valid driver's license with a good driving record
