What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner position at Ocean One Bar & Grille?
We are looking for a Expo/Food Runner who can assist our team and be our communication between our kitchen and wait staff. Food Runner responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders, and removing used dishes/utensils. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience, we’d like to meet you. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. The extreme focus in your department will be that we are rapidly pushing out food in the correct manner. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests receive the correct food and adhere to any requests given from the patrons. If an item requested is an upcharge; you must find the correct server/bartender of that table. You will not only notify the correct server/bartender, but you will also make sure the customer receives and is satisfied with the request.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Delivering food orders from the kitchen to the customers as efficiently and accurately as possible.
- Acting as the point of contact between FOH and BOH staff. Especially to Sous Chef/ Exec Chef/ Head Expo.
- Communicating accurate food orders to chefs and paying attention to priorities (food allergies).
- Help clear the table when food is delivered.
- When it is slow in the kitchen, help bus on the floor.
- Mark tables if necessary and notify the kitchen or manager on duty!
- Help with any requests from customers and relay the message to the server.
- Assist any sales staff with table resetting by placing appropriate tableware on the table.
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (proper temperature).
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
