Ocean Power Technologies (OPT) is looking for a Cloud Engineer/Architect to join our team and work with our engineering team to optimize, implement, and maintain our organization’s cloud-based systems. Responsibilities in this role will include deploying and debugging systems, analyzing, supporting and maintaining existing cloud architecture for OPT product lines, and executing new cloud-based initiatives and optimizations. Ultimately, you will work with different IT professionals and teams to ensure our cloud computing systems meet the needs of our organization and customers.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Modifying and improving existing systems.
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
• Design, develop, and deploy modular, highly scalable cloud-based systems.
• Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with industry best practices.
• Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security
policies and best practices in cloud security.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
• Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.
• Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs.
Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a US Government security clearance (minimum: Collateral SECRET)
• Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience as a Cloud Engineer/Architect or similar role, with proven experience in
the design, deployment, and management of enterprise-level high performance cloud solutions.
• Cloud security, resource partitioning, and firewalling of cloud data storage.
• Cloud configuration and services performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Client management skills to discuss systems as needed.
• Relevant training and/or certifications as a Cloud Engineer/Architect.
Preferred Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
• Has an active or recently separated US Government security clearance (minimum: Collateral SECRET)
• AWS, Azure, and/or GCP certifications (with primary focus on AWS).
• Expertise with AWS VPC, RDS, ElastiCache, Kinesis Video, S3, EKS, Load Balancing, and Cognito services.
• Cloud-based relational DB deployment, management, and performance tuning experience, with focus on PostgreSQL.
• Cloud-based analytics, reporting, and data modeling.
