Summary
The Financial Institutions Group Commercial Loan Assistant II provides support to the FIG team and Commercial Lending Department with the preparation of participation agreements, commercial credit loan documents, construction loan draws, participant bank funding process, credit file maintenance and buyside and sell-side closing process. This position is responsible for providing an excellent client experience to prospects and clients and is responsible for problem solving, issue investigation and resolution. The Financial Institutions Group Loan Assistant II acts as a gatekeeper to the FIG team members, participants banks and the commercial team. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and uniformity of all legal and loan documents and minimizes the risk of loss to the Bank. This position ensures that all loans are closed and maintained in accordance with state and federal regulations and adheres to Bank policies and guidelines.
Specific Job Functions
- Provides support to the FIG correspondent team, FIG operations and commercial banking teams including updating loan participations data and assembling proper documentation for buy-side and sell-side loan participations.
- Ensures that loan files contain proper documentation, signatures, and other relevant data.
- Assembles and verifies accuracy of loan participation and commercial loan documentation.
- Instrumental in working with the commercial team in uploading key loan documentation to DebtX for the loans sales.
- Provides internal and external customer service by answering phone and written inquiries regarding loan participations information and general questions related to commercial loan payments reconciliation process.
- Actively refers leads on loan participations, FIG deposits, and other services to appropriate specialist.
- Responsible for facilitating loan closing and funding process for buy-side and sell-side loan participations.
- Daily management in facilitating the construction loan draw process in conjunction with the commercial lending teams.
- Assist in the timely manner of obtaining of all tracked/required information required from clients and regularly reviews documents exception reports to insure timely elimination of items.
- Participates and completes Sales, Service, and Compliance and Product training.
- Represents the bank in community affairs or civic organizations.
- Assist in organizing and managing all FIG signature client events.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associates degree is preferred.
- Two (2) years of loan documentation is required.
- Must have advanced knowledge of loan documentation and operation.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have working knowledge of computer skills to include Microsoft Suite.
- Must have good organization and time management skills.
- Must have good understanding of banking products and services.
