SUMMARY
The Sharps Tech will support the business, including manual labor associated with on-site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for various programs, including but not limited to: Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, and Controlled Substances, and other duties as assigned. This service is provided at regularly scheduled intervals for assigned facilities. This is an entry level, non-supervisory position focused on Regulated Medical Waste related projects.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures waste types are properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows are met, proper container labeling is adhered to, good housekeeping is maintained, and accurate tracking logs are kept
- Travel between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Sharps and Pharmaceutical Management Systems
- Interacts professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded
- Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule
- Communicates duty status on a defined scheduled
- Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetings
- Maintains a minimal amount of manifest errors
- Maintains compliance with applicable environmental, safety and transportation regulations (EPA, OSHA, and DOT)
- Immediately reports any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries or property damage to supervisor.
- Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetings
- May provide support or direction to less experienced technicians
- Wears required personal protective equipment
- Performs labor intensive activities such as walking long distances while pushing/pulling service carts
- Performs other related duties as required or requested
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- High school diploma or GED (accredited) is required
- Valid Driver’s License is required
- Ability to Maintain required mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule
- Additional hours as job duties demand
TRAVEL - OTHER
- Travel to domestic Trilogy facilities when necessary (less than 10%)
- Must have a current, valid driver's license
- Able to be insurable under our company's liability insurance policy
