With office locations around the globe, OCLC employees are dedicated to offering premier services and software to help libraries.The Job Details are as follows:We are seeking a Human Resources Intern for our summer internship program, assisting our Total Rewards and HRIS Team. Dates for the internship will be from May 15 to August 11, 2023 working full time during the summer. Responsibilities:Explore avenues for improving or expanding various cash and non-cash rewards initiatives that assist with talent attraction, retention, and motivation.Support the planning and coordination efforts of a Summer Health & Wellness Fair, up to and including the day of event, securing participation from various vendor and industry partners.Lead efforts to prepare a national awareness calendar, covering targeted topics by month and engaging speakers with focus on the importance of work/life balance.Support the HR Systems team with daily program administration and compliance through use of our Workday HRIS system to process, monitor and audit Benefits and Compensation data.Support improvements to the Onboarding process in Workday, exploring a dashboard highlighting key messages, documents, tasks, and video to new hires. Qualifications:Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.Proven reliability and success in previous work experiences.Self-starter, able to accomplish tasks with minimal direction.Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service orientation.Basic knowledge of Human Resources through education, project teams, or work experiences.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, notably Excel and PowerPoint.Prior experience in a Compensation or Benefits related field is desired but not required. If you’re a student looking to gain:Analytical skills: Research compensation and benefits programs, create plans that meet employer and employee needs, draw conclusions from detailed information, examine how processes work, and practice problem-solving.Communication skills: Understand complex processes and learn to simplify and communicate in response to employee questions and issues. Learn to craft creative solutions to balance appreciation for cash and non-cash rewards.Computer skills: Use various software programs to create corporate documents and policies, send emails and create presentations, understand word processing, slideshows, spreadsheets and email programs.Critical thinking skills: Compare compensation and benefit programs and evaluate policies, research intrinsic/extrinsic employee needs and explore additional means of attracting, retaining and rewarding employees and candidates through use of total rewards.OCLC Interns are compensated on an hourly basis for their work. Our Interns will also be invited to participate in additional learning opportunities throughout the Summer including "Lunch & Learn" events with executive leadership, volunteer opportunities to give back to local community, and other Intern-only events.All Interns also receive a free pass to the OCLC Wellzone, our onsite fitness center, for the duration of their internship!
