About the role
As the VP of Revenue Cycle, you will be responsible for building a vision for what Revenue Cycle and Billing is for Octave, our providers and our clients. You will define and execute Octave's Revenue Cycle strategy, overseeing all front-end and back-end Revenue Cycle operations. You will be responsible for building a team, including defining clear roles and expectations and hiring and managing a high performing team. You will collaborate with colleagues across departments to contribute Revenue Cycle expertise to business objectives. Your team will deliver a best-in-class experience for our clients by ensuring a seamless billing experience and timely resolution of client inquiries.

Responsibilities:
- Define the vision for Revenue Cycle & Billing, including defining the client and provider experience
- Manage Octave's Revenue Cycle & Billing team and oversee all front-end and back-end Revenue Cycle operations
- Build and maintain all Revenue Cycle processes in a manner consistent with industry best practices and in support of Octave's projected growth
- Act as the Revenue Cycle liaison with other Octave departments including but not limited to working with the product development team to define and update workflows and tools, working with the clinical team to ensure communication to providers and clients is clear and timely and working with the business development team to manage onboarding new payers
- Manage relationship with existing third party vendors and devise go-forward vendor strategy
- Manage the strategy and setup of delegated credentialing
- Build a provider credentialing strategy for scale and manage provider credentialing processes on behalf of our clinicians for insurance contracts
- Oversee insurance billing and patient billing, ensuring that all clients are billed accurately and in a timely manner following their sessions
- Set up processes within the team and other departments so that the team can work collaboratively with both our clients and providers to resolve billing issues that arise in the course of business
Qualifications:
- 7 years experience in revenue cycle leadership, 15 years of overall experience
- Strong presentation skills, including extensive experience presenting and communicating with executives
- Experience defining product strategy or product features related to Revenue Cycle
- Experience working in a high growth environment
- Experience or familiarity with provider credentialing processes (experience directly overseeing provider credentialing a plus)
- Experience with and strong knowledge of insurance landscape (experience with mental health billing is a plus)
- Experience and comfort with working with ambiguity
- Strong analytical skills, can translate complex data into clear action and can communicate it to junior and senior levels of the organization
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience building a team, including recruiting and hiring new team members, defining new roles and responsibilities and setting performance standards
- Team player, who enjoys collaborating to develop solutions
- Detailed-oriented, organized, and takes pride in the quality of their work
- Desire to work in a dynamic start-up environment
- Proficiency in Google Suite of Applications
