Schaumburg, IL (50% Remote 50% Onsite)


The Senior Manager, Tax role is responsible for leading the tax strategies for TouchTunes and related entities with US, Canadian and UK Operations.  A key component of this role is managing all aspects of US Federal and State income taxes, local sales and use taxes, franchise tax, VAT/GST, Canadian income and indirect tax and property taxes. This role supports the annual audit with the US and Canada tax provision, as well as production of 1099 reporting, 1042 withholding reporting, FBAR reporting, W8/W9 vendor onboarding.  The tax department also oversees all business licenses and registration, registered agent representation, and all related annual report filings.  The Senior Manager, Tax will work closely with external professional service firms who provide support and guidance on international tax planning, tax strategies in various jurisdictions and availability of certain grants. 

Senior Manager, Tax is responsible for leading and developing a team of two tax professionals who prepare various supporting documentation for tax compliance, tax provision, general ledger reconciliations, audit defense materials.

This role will have regular communication with the Senior Leadership Team, Functional Department heads and divisional operational, finance personnel, as well as government taxing authorities and tax specialists and consultants.

What your day-to-day looks like:

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of tax and filing deadlines for TouchTunes and related entities.
  • Provide expert advice on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
  • Domestic US and Canada Income Tax Compliance: Direct management and oversight of the preparation and filing. Direct management and oversight of the data collection process accumulating state apportionment information and all related information for book to tax differences.
  • US Federal Tax audits: Lead the information requests and review documents to support the audits.
  • US State and Local Income Tax: Direct management and oversight of the preparation and filing of all returns.
  • US State and Local Income and sales Tax audits: Direct management and oversight of the preparation and filing of all Lead state and local tax audits, administrative protests, and judicial appeals in support of tax return filing positions.
  • Manage Tax return filing positions based on applicable Tax Law (Federal and State)
  • Manages renewal of all business licenses, Secretary of State filings, and legal registered agent representation for the company.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment while motivating the team to exceed expectations and take on new challenges. 
  • Conduct regular performance management evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.   

 

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong analytic, creative and logic skills needed,
  • 6-10 years of relevant strong “operational tax” experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance related filed required
  • Hands on experience managing the demands of meeting tax deadlines
  • Experience with software implementation and automation tax tools
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to perform in a high-energy, and an ever-changing environment
  • Systems savvy
  • Experience with Oracle e-BS and Vertex or similar software is a plus
  • Needs to understand all facets of tax compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance related filed required
  • EBS Oracle experience (preferred)
