OddFellows Ice Cream is hiring a Shop Manager for our Chestnut Hill scoop shop! The Shop Manager is responsible for all matters pertaining to day-to-day operations in their shop, serving as the lead brand representative for OddFellows in Newton. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Shop Manager guides a team of store-specific Shift Leads and Dip Experts, leading with a singular focus on sharing the best possible ice cream experience with the world. Salaried position of $60,000 per year plus bonus based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
The Shop Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Chestnut Hill shop. These include:
- Upholding brand, product, and shop cleanliness standards;
- Leading by example in service;
- Manage the monthly P&L to increase sales and minimize costs;
- Ensuring all financial and other administrative duties are completed accurately and promptly in accordance with company standards;
- Maintaining par levels of ice cream, retail and merchandise items, as well as dry goods and cleaning supplies through regular inventory counts and timely ordering;
- Scheduling and weekly payroll, including serving as floor coverage as last resort;
- Hiring, onboarding, training, and performance reviews;
- Ongoing training and implementation of new products and service;
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and in good working order through management of preventative maintenance schedule;
- Maintaining a safe, secure, hygienic environment through compliance with local Health Code, ServSafe standards, and company guidelines;
- Ensuring guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings.
Experience & Requirements
- Has management experience or equivalent; restaurant or café management (and a knowledge and love of craft food and beverage) preferred;
- Must hold applicable certifications as required by local health authorities (ServSafe Certification, and Certificate of Allergen Awareness);
- Must work at least one weekend (Saturday or Sunday) floor shift of at least six hours weekly, as well as a mix of daytime and night shifts;
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Is organized and takes ownership of their space and projects; solution oriented;
- Is calm under pressure and handles adversity well;
- Understands what makes OddFellows special and is zealous about sharing it;
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 25 lbs (50 lbs with a partner) and stand for 4 hours.
